The last year appeared to be full of fake news , paid views, deep fakes. And every film I seen on my computer screen seemed to be remakes. I gained weight by being chained to a chair in the name of entertainment , Played the blame game with aw the rest of them as cancel culture gained a face lift, At one point they locked down bakers so I had to I replace eating my bodyweight in steak beaks, And make do with microwaving microchips every time I saw that Bill Gates face, And I think we all learned that everyone's an expert these days well apart from doctors, nurses , an aw the experts (obviously ) There was winners and losers and yes beggers can be choosers, I self isolated myself till they open up the boozers, With the caveat, for me , that background music , should be booming, Every Zoom call was confusing just another muted human, This cities always grim but this one is different, The year flew by quick style yet they dragged out every minute, The critical thinking definition of 'cynic' means now, Everyone's a sceptic but there hearts not really in it, It's more 'question everything ' except the sources that I parrot, Friendships end up damaged , coz lines in sand became apparent , And the Brexit in the rear view , the worst of two wrongs, That passed a tax dodge for Boris as another Q forms . From March to March, we marched in packs, We roamed in tribes , took sides and chose our facts, At the point where my whole planets slowly falling apart, High fived my Dad through the glass it all happened so fast By the next March they banned, marching, bands, protests and gatherings, For the first time many middle class people are reacting here, Previously they worked from home with Netflix and Uber Eats, But when their holiday got in jeopardy they marched on city streets, My feed is filled with scammers, anti vaxxers, crisis actors, They prefer Corbyn's brother but would rather vote Thatcher, Aw that 'All Lives Matter' patter apart fae when they batter refugees, Turned up for furlough dough though after decades of austerity, The magic money tree reappeared and paid their mates for track and trace, And PPE and masks that never worked but corporations fed their face, Brainwashed by the BBC? whit? who dae ye think your talking tae?, I graduated with honours mate, fae youtube university, Your phone is a TV if you share yer negativity, It's UBI or die till we return to festivities, Now suddenly I'm mainstream coz I don't think Trump is Jesus, 5g causes obesity coz we order more pizzas , And the borders spring up like trees gain their leaves and? I can't leave the house either you get fined for Breathing, If protests changed anything they'de make them illegal, Churchill's statue gets more safe guards than vulnerable people, Kill the bill! it`s protests post-covid tories are wary of , We will march against those scary laws they cannae jail aw ae us, It disgusts me when you film empty hospital corridors, but I welcome your distrust cuz you'll be marching as one ae us From March to March we've grown apart, We grew up together now our views don't even match, From March to March this pause wont start, Now I'm dreaming of the new days, Dreaming of the old days, Hey hey anything but these days Hey having one of those days Hey Hey Hey Hey

I've been bumped by promoters and ignored by their punters Punched by their bouncers caused by the mischief of others And the barmaid wont bargain with another starving artist Am I the oldest cunt in here? still the last man standing I miss late night taxis and guestlist passes But sometimes i wonder if its Roset tinted glasses I miss the stage craft and backstage banter But its hard to make cash when your having afterparties 'Cause I exist in a niche within another niche Where the only paying customers are undercover police What a daft career path when the fans cant see past A scottish accent yet they want you to be real? (ha ha ha ha) Should i call it a day ? and disappear like ceefax? Or do it all again though it might appear desperrraaaat But i enjoy annoying critics who will never even check that Email on their desk, Jackal Trades with a press pack Fun has been outlawwwwwwed But we can still work for nowt There was a brief part of March where the roads were calm Noo theres no open mics or studios but plenty traffic jams I feel lonely, wonder where are they aw going? Cannae be camping coz its no stopped snowing I hear neighbours and strangers argue on the streets steaming I supppose thats a sign that nature is healing My euro tour is over, cancelled all flights to hannover Not feeling right, is it covid or a hangover? Everything we worked for vanished overnight They decimated nightlife and shoppings still shite Everything's more difficult , confused at life Forgot my mask and cannot buy one without going inside But im stuck outside , it`s a vicious cycle, So get on my bike raging, shake my fist at the night fall Unviable, illegal , the life where I saw people Now I tell all my secrets to shopkeepers or a seagull Fun has been outlawwwwwwed But we can still work for nowt Fun has been outlawwwwed But we can still walkabout (if we stay within our radius and dont take the piss if we stay within our radius and dont take the piss if we stay within our radius and dont take the piss if we stay within our radius and dont take the piss if we stay within our radius and dont take the piss piss)

I Miss It 03:02

about

I am delighted to introduce you to a brand new Jackal Trades album called 'At This Point' which is now available to order. It was mixed, mastered and produced by Morphamish and features a star studded cast of artists and beatmakers. I have embraced the strange times we are living in and wanted to create a time capsule of my feelings and almost write a letter to my future self. I have been as honest as I possibly can on this record but with the times moving so fast I am aware I risk being wrong about much of what I say hence the artwork of a demented planet eating my words. Thanks to Shona Skyler for that. The album is about confusion, isolation, nostalgia and dreaming of the new times ahead. There is some serious subjects tackled but there is also a heavy dose of daftness from time to time to keep things upbeat as I possibly could under the current circumstances. I was forced to record this album on my own from home which has taught me so much. I am buzzing for you all to hear it. You can get it now as digital download, CD, Lyric Book, T shirt or a bundle featuring all of that plus stickers, badges and extras. Pre-order today and you get a mates rates price plus some of the songs as an instant download and an invite to an exclusive listening party before anyone else hears it. Thank you to everyone who shows support. I would also like to thank the patreons at patreon.com/youcallthatradio as this album would not be possible without the support shown to me over the last year.
